IOFS Regional Training Workshop on Strategic Planning and Policy Development in Food Security

SFSI were pleased to participate in the recent Regional Training Workshop on Strategic Planning and Policy Development in Food Security organized by the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) in Cairo.

John Rae -SFSI Project Manager- and Sinead Mowlds -SFSI contractor and Research Affiliate at University of Cambridge- delivered two sessions at the workshop.

These sessions centered on the reforms implemented by the Government of Ireland which have led to the country being ranked #2 on the Global Food Security Index, and the familiarization of global food security practices and tools at a local level. The sessions promoted knowledge transfer via presentations and group exercises, which provide a platform for participants to share knowledge and experience; and discuss and brainstorm the targeted input.

The SFSI delegation also met with Rawya Mansour, chairperson and founder of RAMSCO, in follow-up to a previous meeting in Dublin that coincided with the Africa-Ireland Economic Forum.
