DG ENEST TAIEX Study Visit to Ireland

09/05/2025
We were delighted to recently host a DG ENEST TAIEX Study Visit from the Montenegro Administration for Food Safety, Veterinary and Phytosanitary Affairs focused on organisation and implementation of the Official Control Regulation 2017/625 for food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary affairs. Montenegro is a candidate country of the EU. This TAIEX Mission included visits to FSAI, DAFM Agriculture House, DAFM Border Control Post, DAFM Central Laboratory Complex, and a FOAO FBO covering topics such as Managing Official Controls, Multi Annual National Control Plans, Veterinary Public Health, Import Controls, Certification, Animal Welfare, Approval and Oversight of Official Control Laboratories, Residue Testing, Pesticide Regulation and Ruminant Animal Health. Ireland has robust systems in place for food safety and quality and seeks to be a world leader in Sustainable Food Systems. SFSI offers a central contact point to agri-food public sector expertise for partner countries. With thanks to colleagues from FSAI and DAFM for all their assistance in making this TAIEX Study Visit a success.
