MatPrat, the Information Office for Eggs and Meat (Norway), took part in a one-day study visit with SFSI. The delegation – which included MatPrat staff and its industry board members – attended Bord Bia, Irish Food Board in the morning for presentations on the Beef and Dairy industries in Ireland, before learning about Origin Green – the world’s only national food and drink sustainability programme.
After lunch, the group travelled to Teagasc Grange, one of the world’s leading beef production research centres. The afternoon session included presentations by Paul Crossan and Bernie Earley on some of the research being undertaken at the site, and a farm visit to see some of the cattle herds housed at the facility.
