12/24/2024

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue TD today launched the new Sustainable Food Systems Ireland three-year strategy. The strategy sets out SFSI’s plans to be an asset for the agri-food sector, contributing to Ireland’s leadership position in sustainable food systems and enhancing coherence of Ireland’s policy approaches and implementation, through its work with a range of national and domestic networks.

In launching the Sustainable Food Systems Ireland Statement of Strategy 2024 to 2027, the Minister particularly welcomed SFSI’s international cooperation efforts to strengthen agri-food systems.

Minister McConalogue stated: “Ireland is a world leader in using a holistic approach to planning and developing our agri-food sector.  In practical terms, Ireland’s expertise in areas like risk-based food safety, quality and traceability can be shared with our partners to strengthen their own food systems, leading to better outcomes globally.”
