Last week SFSI met with the Permanent Secretary Ms. Lillian Kapusana at the Office of the Vice President (OVP) in Lusaka. This helped to clearly define the future pathways and ways of working for Year 2 of the Zambia Ireland Food Systems Strengthening Programme (ZISSP) a partnership dedicated to food systems support, One Health and Climate Action.  

Despite numerous challenges, Zambia has demonstrated a strong commitment to the UN food systems agenda, accelerating the development of sustainable, inclusive, and resilient food systems. Strong leadership has been shown by the national food systems convenor, Mr. Victor Mbumwae coordinating food systems transformation  efforts across government, the private sector, civil society, and international organisations.

Ireland and Zambia will continue to work closely together and showcasing the partnership at global events including Nutrition 4 Growth, Stock Taking Moment+4, World Food Forum and Scaling Up Nutrition Summit in 2025.
